Comparison of 2012 teaser trailer and 2012 trailer

I have noticed that there is significant difference between both the trailer and the teaser trailer of 2012, one of those obvious things being the length of the trailer, the trailer is 1 minute 35 seconds longer than the teaser trailer. The scene shown in the teaser trailer shows the big budget and the unbelieveably big effects of the film showing a massive wave which iverruns not only the Tibetan monastery but the himalayas also, where as in the longer trailer you are introduced to the characters and some of the plot behind the film, you are shown a great deal of effects which are in the film ranging from volcanic eruptions, meteorites and thunderstorms, Another major difference between both the trailer and the teaser trailer is the amount of shots shown, in teaser trailer only 13 shots are shown whereas in the trailer many more are shown. The longer trailer also shows captions which will hook the audience into the film. The longer trailer also shows who the film is directed by and what his previous films were the director being Roland Emirich. A number of the shots in the trailer is centered around what seems to be a family, this indicates that the film is possibly centered around this family.

The Avengers teaser trailer

The trailer starts off with the name of the origin of each character in the film which is Marvel. Marvel have produced box office films before such as Spiderman and X-men, with this both audiences of the Marvel films and the Marvel comics will be attracted to this film as it joins some of the most famous faces in marvel history. The trailer then shows a spaceship flying in the sky, the setting is at night and is gloomy with clouds around and a overvoice of a man saying 'a secret organisation' this attracts the audiences attention straight away making them think what could this man be talking about. The trailer then moves on to introducing the characters of the film starting from Nick Fury, Captain America, Thor and Wolverine, each of these characters are introduced with their names first, of which fly on to the screen after each name is shown clips of that character is then shown, other characters are also shown in the film but are not introduced to you. The teaser trailer ends with the title of the film being shown Avengers.

You are only briefly shown a clip of the characters in the teaser trailer this is just to draw the attention of the viewer to allow them to see who is in the film, the shortest clip is when you are introduced to nick fury you are only shown two seconds of him where as with the rest of the characters you are shown five seconds each. In the trailer Nick Fury is only shown in two shots, Captain America in five Shots, Thor in four shots and Wolverine in three shots, this could have some relevance in showing who are the most important characters within the film perhaps?.
